Scratches were seen on the stars, which became a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/entertainment\/dolly-parton-hollywood-walk-of-fame-star\/3933944\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">gathering spot  for fans<\/a> mourning the &#8220;Queen of Country Music&#8221; after her death at age 80 was anounced Aug. 25. <\/p>\n<p>Fans gathered at the star in the hours that followed to join people around the world remembered a global music star and actor with an extraordinary philanthropic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbclosangeles.com\/entertainment\/entertainment-news\/dolly-parton-projects-in-the-works-before-her-death-where-they-stand\/3934166\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">legacy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Scheduled repairs on the star began Tuesday. The repair work by the Hollywood Historic Trust, which maintains and repairs Walk of Fame stars, was set up late last week.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dolly Parton&#8217;s star is now restored for all to see,&#8221; the Hollywood Historic Trust said Friday in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Dc36_m9K5mq\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&amp;igsi=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instagram post<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Walk of Fame producer Martinez said a fan reported on social media that the star was vandalized with scratches. (Photo by Bill Nation\/Sygma via Getty Images)<\/p>\n<p>Parton\u2019s star was unveiled in a dual ceremony with actor Sylvester Stallone, who co-starred with Parton in the movie &#8220;Rhinestone.&#8221; The 1985 musical comedy revolved around a bet that Parton&#8217;s character can turn a New York cab driver played by Stallone into a country music star.<\/p>\n<p>One of the notes left at the Walk of Fame star read, &#8220;Thank you for loving me and accepting me before I knew how to love myself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Nail polish, Duncan Hines Dolly Parton cornbread mix, pink sunglasses and other items also were left at the star.<\/p>\n<p>Parton earned nearly every major honor a musician could aspire to during her legendary career as singer-songwriter, but her influence spread well beyond country music and into the world of Hollywood films.<\/p>\n<p>Parton also was familiar to TV audiences with roles in variety specials and a long list of TV holiday films.
