Chipotle Mexican Grill made its restaurant debut in Asia on Sept. 2, opening its first location in the city of\u00a0Seoul, South Korea.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cSouth Korea, in particular, is an ideal market to introduce Chipotle to the region, and we see tremendous potential to grow from here,\u201d Chief Executive Scott Boatwright said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Newport Beach-based company has partnered with operator\u00a0Sangmidang Holdings to expand the business in South Korea via a joint venture called\u00a0S&C Restaurants Holdings.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
S&C aims to open two more South Korean locations by the end of 2026 as well as\u00a0Chipotle\u2019s\u00a0first restaurant in Singapore in 2027.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
