Spike strips, K9 used during police chase in Sacramento; 1 arrested<\/p>\n

A police pursuit that began in downtown Sacramento ended in an arrest and the suspect being taken to the hospital, officials said. <\/p>\n

The Sacramento Police Department said officers tried to conduct a traffic stop near J and 7th streets due to reckless driving, but the vehicle did not yield, prompting the pursuit. The suspect led officers onto a freeway before entering back into the city, police said. <\/p>\n

Sacramento police said an officer successfully used spike strips near Freeport Boulevard and Sutterville Road to help slow the suspect down. <\/p>\n

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said the pursuit ended at Sutterville Road and 24th Street, where the suspect was apprehended by a K9 and arrested. The extent of the suspect’s injuries is unclear. <\/p>\n
