The vehicle did not pull over and a chase began, temporarily entering the freeway before going back into the city, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Officers successfully deployed spike strips during the chase in the area of Freeport Boulevard and Sutterville Road. Afterwards, the Sacramento County Sheriff&#8217;s Office took over the pursuit, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to the sheriff&#8217;s office, the chase ended after a K9 caught the suspect at Sutterville Road and 24th Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The suspect, a man, was taken to the hospital, the sheriff&#8217;s office said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
