Clarkston and Stoney Creek delivered in Thursday night\u2019s OAA crossover between division preseason favorites.<\/p>\n
Originally scheduled to go down in Rochester Hills, inclement weather from the day leading up necessitated the game be moved, and Clarkston edged out the late-start contest in front of its home fans over the Cougars, 14-7.<\/p>\n
A touchdown run early in the fourth quarter by Ty Duffy proved to be the game-winner for Clarkston. The senior finished with 150 yards rushing in the win and added a sack on defense.<\/p>\n
The Cougars got to midfield with about two minutes remaining before Clarkston senior defensive back Wendell Childs Jr. picked off a pass inside the Wolves\u2019 30-yard line to help seal the win.<\/p>\n
Alex Waszczenko\u2019s 57-yard TD pass to Drew French opened the scoring with a little over four minutes to go in the first half. That lead looked like it would hold into the fourth quarter, but Mason Black broke a tackle on a run up the middle and scored on a run from 13 yards out to tie the game with 1:15 left in the third.\n<\/p>\n
Clarkston (2-0) hosts Troy Athens in another OAA crossover in Week 3, whereas the Cougars (1-1) will open up OAA White play at Troy.<\/p>\n

Jamari Givhan had ran for a short TD to open up the third OT for St. Mary\u2019s before King stopped the Eaglets\u2019 conversion attempt. Givhan finished with two TDs, Gonzales ran for one and threw another to Chad Willis, and DJ Taylor and Lorenzo Barber also found paydirt on runs for St. Mary\u2019s (1-1) in the defeat.<\/p>\n
MILFORD 59, WALLED LAKE CENTRAL 0 >> The Mavericks set a program record for single-game scoring on Thursday, breaking their previous best of 56 from a game against Pinckney in 2001. Freshman Bentley Moreno continued his hot start, completing all nine of his pass attempts for 160 yards and four touchdowns, three of them to junior receiver Zach Tegler.<\/p>\n
DETROIT CATHOLIC CENTRAL 56, DAVISON 14 >> Before Gideon Gash caught a 73-yard TD from Duke Banta late in the half Friday, the Shamrocks (2-0) had already opened up a 28-0 lead by the end of the opening quarter. Included in the early scoring for DCC were a 2-yard TD run by Ryan Jaafar, a 14-yard TD catch by Gash, a 14-yard scoring run by Jaafar and a 20-yard TD pass by Banta to Wyatt Wilk. Gash also caught a 47-yard TD for his third scoring reception of the night in the second half of the win.<\/p>\n
WALLED LAKE WESTERN 58, LIVONIA FRANKLIN 7 >> The Warriors dominated their league opener and moved to 2-0 at home on Thursday night. David Krall completed all but one of his 10 pass attempts for 303 yards and three touchdowns, including 166 yards to Timon Dogan (four catches, two TDs). Michael Walker Jr. found the end zone three times as well in WL Western\u2019s victory.<\/p>\n
