(FOX40.COM) \u2014 A shelter in place was issued at Sacramento State following a report of shots fired, officials announced on Saturday.<\/p>\n
At approximately 7:35 p.m., authorities alerted students about a “dangerous situation” where shots were fired.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At 8:09 p.m., the Sacramento State Police Department confirmed the shelter in place was lifted, and no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Students were alerted to avoid Parking Structure 3 on campus, and a shelter in place was issued at Hornet Stadium, where a Sac State football game was ongoing at the time of the report.<\/p>\n
The Sacramento Police Department confirmed that they are assisting the situation. University officials confirmed that a subject was detained, but it was determined the detained party was not involved in the incident.<\/p>\n
“I got a notification my phone and, like, everyone at the same time got the same notification. So everyone was kind of, like, worried what happened,” football game attendee Ethan Mannion said.<\/p>\n
“[We thought] That’s kind of sketchy, that’s pretty close. We didn’t hear anything, so we didn’t really want to jump to conclusions,” added Teo Larson, another attendee. “Obviously I was a little nervous, but we drove by the Sac State Police department earlier. I was confident they had it under control.”<\/p>\n
