Jayson Torres told City News Service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fire department personnel determined the pedestrian was deceased at the scene, Torres said. Police didn\u2019t immediately release the persons\u2019 gender, age or why he or she was on the tracks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long Beach Boulevard was closed in both directions between 23rd and Hill streets, and the public was asked to avoid the area, Torres said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An investigation was underway, he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a breaking news story.
