{"id":455659,"date":"2026-09-06T20:26:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-06T20:26:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/455659\/"},"modified":"2026-09-06T20:26:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-06T20:26:08","slug":"person-dies-after-being-struck-by-vehicle-train-in-long-beach-nbc-los-angeles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/455659\/","title":{"rendered":"Person dies after being struck by vehicle, train in Long Beach \u2013 NBC Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A person is dead after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle and left on Metro tracks in the Wrigley District of Long Beach, where they were struck again by a Metro light-rail train, authorities said Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Officers dispatched at about 9 p.m. Saturday to the area of Long Beach Boulevard and East 23rd Street located the adult pedestrian lying on the tracks on Long Beach Boulevard, the Long Beach Police Department reported.<\/p>\n<p>Paramedics pronounced the unidentified person dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The preliminary investigation revealed an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on Long Beach Boulevard, when it struck the pedestrian in the roadway,&#8221; according to a police statement. &#8220;The pedestrian was subsequently struck by the Metro light rail vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene of the collision.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>No vehicle description was immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding the case was urged to call the LBPD at 562-570-7110.
