A 14-year-old California high school student <\/a>suffered third-degree burns after campus security officers pinned her to a scorching metal plate following her fighting with a boy and teacher.<\/p>\n

Bridgette Chocoteco said the incident began on Aug. 25 after a teacher at Bakersfield<\/a> High School grabbed her arm following a physical altercation between her and a fellow student.<\/p>\n

“The lady grabbed me, like twice \u2014 and I yanked my arm\u00a0back\u00a0the first time. And then I yanked it again, and I told her to let go of me. And she\u00a0didn’t, so I hit her,” Chocoteco told KGET 17 News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After she hit the teacher, school security<\/a> quickly jumped in and tackled her on to a metal plate in open space, which had been under the hot sun all day in Kern County’s 100-degree weather.<\/p>\n

The metal plate had “electric high voltage” engraved on it, reported the news outlet. “I know my actions\u00a0weren’t\u00a0right, but that\u00a0doesn’t\u00a0excuse\u00a0theirs,” the teen said.<\/p>\n

“If they\u00a0would have just gave\u00a0me a second to calm down, this wouldn’t\u00a0have happened. I\u00a0wouldn’t\u00a0have put my hands on anybody. They\u00a0didn’t\u00a0have to touch me,” she added.<\/p>\n

Chocoteco was on the metal plate for around two minutes and her exposed skin sustained severe burns.<\/p>\n

After the incident, the 14-year-old had blood on her face, blisters across her stomach and massive burns on her thighs. GoFundMe<\/p>\n

Chocoteco is currently receiving burn treatments at a Fresno hospital. GoFundMe<\/p>\n

“I was screaming that I was burning and they just kind of\u00a0held\u00a0me even harder. One of them said that’s\u00a0what I\u00a0get,” Chocoteco said.<\/p>\n

When her mother Kristian Chocoteco arrived at the hospital, she expected bumps or bruises. Bakersfield High School hadn’t mentioned the extent of her daughter’s injuries, but the wet towels laid over the teenager hinted at something far worse.<\/p>\n

“I thought maybe she was bleeding. Then she saw the severe third-degree burns<\/a> across her daughter’s stomach and thigh. It was just disgusting\u2014how they did her.<\/p>\n

“I was in shock. I had to walk away because I didn’t want to cry in front of her,” the teen’s mother told the news outlet.<\/p>\n

Chocoteco is currently receiving burn treatments at a Fresno hospital with her mother at her bedside.<\/p>\n
