{"id":455809,"date":"2026-09-07T00:06:17","date_gmt":"2026-09-07T00:06:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/455809\/"},"modified":"2026-09-07T00:06:17","modified_gmt":"2026-09-07T00:06:17","slug":"hit-and-run-driver-knocked-man-onto-metro-railway-where-he-was-struck-by-train-police-say-long-beach-post-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/455809\/","title":{"rendered":"Hit-and-run driver knocked man onto Metro railway, where he was struck by train, police say \u2022 Long Beach Post News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A man is dead after he was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle and left on Metro tracks in the Wrigley District of Long Beach, where he was struck again by a Metro A Line train, authorities said today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officers dispatched at about 9 p.m. Saturday to the area of Long Beach Boulevard and East 23rd Street located the man lying on the tracks on Long Beach Boulevard, the Long Beach Police Department reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paramedics pronounced the unidentified man dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe preliminary investigation revealed an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on Long Beach Boulevard when it struck the pedestrian in the roadway,\u201d according to a police statement. \u201cThe pedestrian was subsequently struck by the Metro light rail vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene of the collision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No vehicle description was immediately available.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone with information regarding the case was urged to call the LBPD at 562-570-7110.
