EL SEGUNDO, Calif. \u2014 A third person has died one day after a fatal plane crash took place Saturday in Northwest Fresno, which involved four people, the Fresno County Sheriff\u2019s office said in an update on social media Sunday.<\/p>\n
An adult woman who was on the plane passed away Sunday after being transported to the hospital. The fourth person, who is an adult man, remained in critical condition.<\/p>\n
Two children aboard the flight were pronounced dead at the scene, while the two adults were transported to the hospital following the crash.<\/p>\n
The names, ages and relationships of the victims are unknown right now, the Fresno County Sheriff said in an update on social media.<\/p>\n
The crash happened around 1:50 p.m. Saturday, according to the Fresno County Sheriff. Fresno firefighters and police officers responded to reports of a crash on the 7300 block of N. Blythe Ave. and found a fixed-wing single-engine airplane on fire on top of a bluff on the San Joaquin River.<\/p>\n
Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames from the crash and prevent them from spreading to nearby homes next to the San Joaquin River.<\/p>\n
The National Transportation Safety Board, which is investigating the crash, said the plane involved was a Grumman American Avn. Corp.
