Jayson Torres told City News Service.<\/p>\n<p>Fire department personnel determined the pedestrian was deceased at the scene, Torres said. A description of the person was not immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>Long Beach Boulevard was closed in both directions between 23rd and Hill streets, and the public was asked to avoid the area, he said.<\/p>\n<p>An investigation was underway, he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A pedestrian was killed by a Metro train in Long Beach Saturday.
