Sacramento police are investigating a shooting at Granite Regional Park that injured four people, with no arrests made.<\/p>\n
Police say the shooting happened just after midnight Sunday morning near the intersection of Cucamonga and Ramona avenues, between the park’s skate park and a soccer field.<\/p>\n
Granite Regional Park, just south of the College-Glen neighborhood, has soccer fields, walking trails and a skate park. People who frequently visit the park said they were shocked to hear about the shooting.<\/p>\n
Brent Ortiz often takes his two dogs out on the park’s trails. One of his favorite paths is near the area where the shooting happened.<\/p>\n
“It’s very concerning because I’m a local here and I try to come here often. I just wouldn’t expect anything like that,” Ortiz said.<\/p>\n
Police said three women were found shot. Shortly afterward, officers responded to a car crash nearby and found a man who had also been shot. All four victims are expected to survive their injuries.<\/p>\n
Ron Campillo has been coming to the park for 30 years. These days, he comes with his dog, Runner. Campillo said the park has improved a lot over the years, which made him concerned to hear about the shooting.<\/p>\n
“It doesn’t happen. It is getting kind of cleaned up here. I did remember when it was really bad\u2026 so yeah, that’s the first time I remember hearing of a shooting around here,” Campillo said.<\/p>\n
Investigators have not determined whether the shooting is connected to gunshots that went off at the Sacramento State football game Saturday night.<\/a><\/p>\n
