{"id":456517,"date":"2026-09-07T20:12:24","date_gmt":"2026-09-07T20:12:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/456517\/"},"modified":"2026-09-07T20:12:24","modified_gmt":"2026-09-07T20:12:24","slug":"hit-and-run-vehicle-train-strike-man-in-long-beachs-wrigley-district","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/456517\/","title":{"rendered":"Hit-And-Run Vehicle, Train Strike Man in Long Beach&#8217;s Wrigley District"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man is dead after he was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle and left on Metro tracks in the Wrigley District of Long Beach, where he was struck again by a Metro light-rail train, authorities said Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Officers dispatched at about 9 p.m. Saturday to the area of Long Beach Boulevard and East 23rd Street located the man lying on the tracks on Long Beach Boulevard, the Long Beach Police Department reported.<\/p>\n<p>Paramedics pronounced the unidentified man dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe preliminary investigation revealed an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on Long Beach Boulevard, when it struck the pedestrian in the roadway,\u201d according to a police statement. \u201cThe pedestrian was subsequently struck by the Metro light rail vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene of the collision.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No vehicle description was immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding the case was urged to call the LBPD at 562-570-7110.
