The Oakland Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Friday night in East Oakland.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to the 9300 block of Walter Avenue shortly after 10:45 p.m. on Friday following reports of an unresponsive person lying in the street, according to the Oakland Police Department.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival, police located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim died at the scene.<\/p>\n
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.<\/p>\n
The OPD Homicide Section has launched a follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. No further details have been released, and police said the case remains an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n
