(FOX26) \u2014 A Clovis woman accused of using her employer\u2019s credit card to rack up more than $4 million in personal purchases was arrested on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Federal prosecutors say 47-year-old Kelly Lynn Brown worked as a bookkeeper for a Fresno business from 2020 through 2024 and had access to employee information, including the owner\u2019s personal details.<\/p>\n<p>Court records show Brown suggested the owner get an American Express card for business expenses. <\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors say Brown then opened another card under the owner\u2019s account without permission and used it for luxury purchases, travel, health and beauty treatments, and down payments on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and Chevrolet Silverado.<\/p>\n<p>She is also accused of using the company\u2019s bank account to pay the charges, helping conceal the scheme. <\/p>\n<p>Kelly Brown ComplaintPDF previewPreview PDF<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"PdfEmbed_downloadLink__tZFvP\" href=\"https:\/\/kmph.com\/resources\/pdf\/58c43e62-7dc1-4a86-8263-a799fe1edc9d-brown_kelly_complaint.pdf\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">View PDF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>[RELATED] <a href=\"https:\/\/kmph.com\/news\/local\/citizen-journalist-nick-shirley-fighting-back-after-state-passes-stop-nick-shirley-act\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Citizen journalist Nick Shirley fighting back after state passes &#8216;Stop Nick Shirley Act&#8217;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The owner reportedly discovered the alleged fraud in late 2024 and fired Brown.<\/p>\n<p>She was arrested on Friday, September 4th, and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Brown faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
