Long Beach will host the Second Chance Job and Resource Fair this week.<\/p>\n
The Department of Economic Development and Opportunity, in collaboration with the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services Office, will host the second-annual job fair for those looking to reenter the workforce. The career and resource fair is designed to connect job seekers with employers, according to a press release.<\/p>\n
The free event will be take place from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network Adult Career Services Center, 4811 Airport Plaza Drive.<\/p>\n
The career and resource fair will feature a variety of employers and hiring representatives, and offer opportunities for people with justice-involved backgrounds to learn about and get connected with meaningful pathways to employment and supportive services, the press release said.<\/p>\n
Community organizations will also be present to offer specialized services tailored to the needs of the community \u2013 such as mental health, health care and housing, among others.<\/p>\n
