SAN JOSE \u2014 A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a deadly late-night shooting<\/a> near the College Park area last week, according to authorities and court records.<\/p>\n

The shooting was reported at 11:02 p.m. the night of Sept. 2 on Stockton Avenue near West Taylor Street, according to San Jose police. Responding police officers found a man suffering from gunshot injuries; he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been publicly released pending his formal identification and notification of his next of kin by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

An ensuing homicide investigation tracked a vehicle connected to the shooting and identified 39-year-old San Jose resident Andre Duckett as a suspect in the killing. Police said Duckett was arrested Sept. 3 in Oakland, and was booked into the county Main Jail on suspicion of murder.<\/p>\n

Court records show that he was criminally charged Tuesday and scheduled for arraignment the same day.<\/p>\n

Police have not released additional details, stating only that the motive and circumstances of the killing are under investigation.<\/p>\n
