NOVI \u2014 A Novi man was found dead inside his home on Aug. 31, and his death has been determined to be a homicide.<\/p>\n

Novi police were called to the home of Jonathan Michael Harley, 46, in the 3000 block of Joliet in the Oakland Glens mobile home park, near 13 Mile and Novi roads, at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 31 for a welfare check after he did not appear for work. Upon entering the home, officers found Harley deceased. No one else was in the home when the officers arrived.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Novi police conducted a death investigation with the assistance of the Michigan State Police crime laboratory.<\/p>\n

The Novi Police Department put out a statement that it is aware of social media reports regarding possible gunshots heard in the Oakland Glens neighborhood on Saturday evening, Aug. 29.. Investigators reportedly have not confirmed that gunshots were fired or that the reports were related to Harley\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

However, based on the information available to investigators, the social media reports do not align with the preliminary timeline of the investigation, the news release states.<\/p>\n

On Sept. 2, the death was determined to be a homicide by the Oakland County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Police Department said that no additional information about the circumstances surrounding Harley\u2019s death is available at this time. The investigation remains active and ongoing.<\/p>\n
