(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A DUI checkpoint and a DUI saturation patrol by the Bakersfield Police Department led to two people being arrested for suspected DUI.<\/p>\n<p>The Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Unit conducted a DUI\/Driver\u2019s License Checkpoint on Friday, September 4th, 2026, in the 1900 block of Ming Avenue between 6:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. Saturday, September 5th.<\/p>\n<p>The checkpoint was held in conjunction with a DUI saturation patrol event.<\/p>\n<p>Bakersfield police said that at the checkpoint, 728 vehicles were screened by officers. Police said one driver was detained for further evaluation and was arrested for driving under the influence. 11 drivers were cited for license violations, and six vehicles were impounded for 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>During the DUI saturation patrol, police said 29 traffic stops were made. Seven drivers were evaluated for DUI, with one arrested for DUI. Police said six vehicles were impounded for driver&#8217;s license violations.<\/p>\n<p>The public is encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
