STOCKTON, Calif. \u2013\u00a0The Pacific women’s soccer program welcomes a pair of opponents to Knoles Field this week, beginning with Cal Poly at 6 p.m. on Thursday and concluding with Senior Day festivities at noon on Sunday against Cal State Bakersfield.<\/p>\n
The Tigers (0-6) have played four of their first six matches away from Stockton with hopes of using this week’s home matches against the Mustangs (2-2-2) and the Roadrunners (1-5) as buoys of confidence for the remainder of the non-conference slate ahead of West Coast Conference play.<\/p>\n
Senior Day will see five of the senior class be honored in a post-match ceremony with Whitney Garn<\/a>, Kaya Rosa<\/a>, Shay Clark<\/a>, Drew Novaes<\/a> and Zoe Shepherd<\/a> earning recognition for their hard work inside and outside the classroom.<\/p>\n Rosa has been one of three Tigers to register a point in the 2026 campaign, scoring a goal in the season opener against Sacramento State. Rosa is tied with sophomore Yohonna Bell<\/a> for the team lead in shots on target with five apiece. Bell has been an effective forward on the wing, pacing Pacific with three points across six matches.<\/p>\n Freshman Ava Wells<\/a> has started the last two matches as the last line of defense. In four total matches, Wells sports a 2.75 GAA with 20 saves off 54 opponents’ shot attempts. Her 20 saves rank tied for fourth in the WCC with LMU’s JJ Hoover. In her most recent home match, Wells recorded a career-high ten saves in a 1-0 decision to Weber State, marking the most saves by a Pacific keeper at home since Brenna Crump during the 2022 campaign in a 1-1 draw against BYU.<\/p>\n Freshman Nora Cullen<\/a> and junior Gianna Gagliano<\/a> continue to serve as primary backbones for the Tigers’ defense, accumulating over 500 minutes each through six starts. Rosa has played the most minutes amongst the forward group with 440 to her name.<\/p>\n Cal Poly is coming off a pair of tough results against power four conferences with a 2-0 loss at Arizona State and, most recently, a scoreless draw at California in Berkeley. The Mustangs, who are the defending Big West champions, started the year with a pair of home wins over UNLV and San Jose State\u00a0at home.<\/p>\n Miah Thomas is a key attacker to keep an eye on Thursday night as she holds the team lead in goals and points with three and six, respectively. Shannon Porubski has started all contests in goal, owning a 0.73 GAA and 13 saves in nearly 500 minutes of work.<\/p>\n Pacific and Cal Poly meet for the fourth year in a row. Last time the two clashed, the score settled to a 2-2 draw in San Louis Obispo. In that contest, sophomore Janelli Villagran<\/a> logged five shot attempts and one on goal. Pacific scored one of its four penalty kick goals from last season in the effort.<\/p>\n CSUB’s one win on the non-conference slate came at home against Texas A&M \u2013 Corpus Christi. The Roadrunners dropped road decisions to WCC counterparts San Francisco, 4-0, and, more recent, San Diego by a 1-0 margin.<\/p>\n Jaiden Gore and CJ Walters each have a goal for the Roadrunners to pace their team’s offense. Addyson Evens has drawn the bulk of starting assignments in net, donning a 1.33 GAA and 39 saves. Her 7.80 saves per game stands fifth nationally.<\/p>\n Pacific and CSUB are even in the head-to-head match-up since 2007 with a 3-3 record on both sides. The Tigers won the first three while the Roadrunners won the next three, including last year’s contest in Bakersfield by a 4-1 margin. Sunday’s match will mark the first time that CSUB will serve as visitors to Knoles Field since the 2019 campaign.<\/p>\n Both matches this week will be streamed live on ESPN+ with a 6 p.m. kick-off on Thursday and a noon kick-off Sunday.<\/p>\n Stay Social
