SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014<\/p>\n
Sacramento State is sharing more details about a security scare during the university\u2019s first home game over the weekend<\/a>.<\/p>\n Two shots were fired from Parking Structure 3 during Saturday\u2019s game, and witnesses said the suspects fled the campus on foot, Sacramento State Police Department Chief Chet Madison Jr. and Vice President of Administration and Chief Financial Officer Rose McAuliffe said in a message to the campus community. <\/p>\n The message said a community service officer first heard the shots coming from the parking garage at 7:15 p.m. and university police officers arrived within 55 seconds. <\/p>\n They confirmed that the shots were fired and no one was injured. <\/p>\n Sac State police activated the university\u2019s emergency notification system as a precaution, along with a shelter-in-place protocol for the game at Hornet Stadium. <\/p>\n The message to students read: “Dangerous situation! Shots fired. Police responding. Avoid Parking Structure 3. Stadium shelter in place until all clear is given.”<\/p>\n The all-clear was given at 8:10 p.m. <\/p>\n According to a KCRA 3 reporter at the game, and university officials, the game was not stopped after the message was sent out. <\/p>\n On Saturday, the university at first said a suspect had been detained before later clarifying that no one was in custody.
