Below is a list of activities in Northern California over the next few days. Before you go out, check our latest forecast<\/a>. <\/p>\n Sacramento County<\/p>\n The California Grand Tasting<\/p>\n Sacramento\u2019s Farm-to-Fork celebration continues Friday evening with The California Grand Tasting at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center. International wine experts will select wineries that best represent the city\u2019s wine scene. Guests can pair those tastings with food options from more than 30 local restaurants. The 21+ event will also feature live entertainment. GA tickets are $175, while VIP tickets are going for $250. They can be purchased here<\/a>.<\/p>\n California Brewers Festival<\/p>\n The California Brewers Festival is expected to draw thousands of attendees Saturday afternoon at Discovery Park. It\u2019s taking place from 1 p.m. \u2013 4 p.m., but VIP guests can get in an hour earlier at noon. In addition to drinks, there will also be food trucks, vendors, and a beer relay. The event is also an opportunity to support local charities. Since its founding in 1994, the event has raised $1.95 million. GA tickets are $48, while VIP tickets are going for $69 (there\u2019s a limited quantity available for VIP). Kids 11 and under get in free. Ages 12-20 should purchase a Designated Driver ticket for $14. You can buy tickets here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Sacramento One Love Festival<\/p>\n The One Love Festival is set to get underway Saturday at 4 p.m. at C\u00e9sar Ch\u00e1vez Plaza in Sacramento. This is the 10th year of the event, which focuses on music, culture, and community from several backgrounds. There will be food vendors offering African American, African, Caribbean, Afro-Latin cuisine, as well as live DJs and performances. GA tickets start at $19. You can buy them here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Come From Away<\/p>\n The hit musical Come From Away will be playing at the UC Davis Health Pavilion from Friday, Sept. 11 to Sunday, Sept. 20. The Tony Award-winning show tells the story of 7,000 stranded passengers in Newfoundland, after dozens of planes were forced to land unexpectedly after the U.S. closed its airspace the day after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Guests can purchase tickets here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Oki Park Food Truck Night + Outdoor Movie<\/p>\n The final Oki Park Food Truck Night of the year is set for Friday night. It\u2019s scheduled from 5 p.m. \u2013 8 p.m. at Oki Park, with a special outdoor movie screening set to follow afterwards. It\u2019s free to attend. Tables and chairs will be provided during dinner. You\u2019ll need to bring your own blankets for the movie.<\/p>\n Butterfly Fest<\/p>\n The opening weekend of the annual Butterfly Fest is set for this Saturday and Sunday at The Secret Garden nursery in Elk Grove. It\u2019ll give people an up-close look at hundreds of Gulf Fritillary butterflies. People can also enjoy butterfly life-cycle tours, children\u2019s activities, refreshments, face painting, and a 15% off sale on all plants. The event takes place from 10 a.m. \u2013 2 p.m. and continues next weekend.<\/p>\n Sacramento Republic FC vs. Detroit City FC<\/p>\n Sacramento Republic FC will host their back-to-school night as they take on Detroit City FC on Saturday. The Republic enter this match coming off a pair of draws on the road, while Detroit has been undefeated in their last six matches. Another one of the region\u2019s premier fighters, Stockton\u2019s Irving Xilohua, will also return to the ring. Tickets start at $76. Parking is free.<\/p>\n Jazz on the Water Festival <\/p>\n Stockton\u2019s fourth annual Jazz on the Water Festival returns Saturday with live performances by Leela James, Dee Lucas, James \u201cPJ\u201d Spraggins, and more. Doors open at noon for VIP ticket holders and at 1 p.m. for general admission. The event will feature dance battles, live DJs, and performances from talent around the world. Friday\u2019s event takes place at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds. On Saturday, it\u2019ll be held at the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium. GA tickets are $35 per day. A two-day pass costs $50.<\/p>\n Ready Together Community Block Party<\/p>\n This block party and disaster-preparedness resource fair takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at El Concilio California in Stockton. The event is included with regular museum admission.<\/p>\n Stanislaus County<\/p>\n Central Valley Assyrian Festival<\/p>\n The Assyrian Festival brings homemade food, live music, dance performances, cultural exhibits to the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday. There\u2019s also going to be a kids zone with carnival rides. The event offers an authentic look at Assyrian culture, history, and hospitality.<\/p>\n Carnegie Arts Center 15th Birthday Celebration<\/p>\n The Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock will host a birthday party at 7 p.m. on Friday to mark its 15-year anniversary. There will be cupcakes and art projects for families.<\/p>\n Opera Modesto \u2013 The Barber of Seville<\/p>\n The comedic opera comes to the Gallo Center for the Arts Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The Barber of Seville will be sung in Italian with English supertitles. It takes place on Lincoln Way in Historic Downtown Auburn.<\/p>\n Ain\u2019t Necessarily Dead Fest<\/p>\n People are invited to North Auburn on Saturday for an afternoon of live music. The 11th annual Ain\u2019t Necessarily Dead Fest is happening at Auburn Regional Park from noon until 10 p.m. People can relax or dance in the park\u2019s natural amphitheater while enjoying food, and craft beers. There\u2019s also a giant kids zone. <\/p>\n Colfax Railroad Days<\/p>\n Colfax will celebrate its role in the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad this weekend. The free family event takes place in Downtown Colfax Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You\u2019ll be able to check out Union Pacific engines and equipment, as well as model train and LEGO train displays. <\/p>\n Fountains Fairytale Day<\/p>\n Princess characters will descend upon the Fountains at Roseville on Saturday from 2 p.m. \u2013 4 p.m. The free event will have family photo opportunities and complimentary treats. You\u2019ll get to try out grape picking and stomping, take a winery tour, and do barrel tasting. It begins Saturday at 10 a.m. People interested can register here<\/a> for $30.<\/p>\n Movies in the Park \u2013 “The Lion King”<\/p>\n Movies in the Park returns to Davis this month, starting with “The Lion King” on Saturday evening. It\u2019ll begin at dusk at Davis Central Park. The Sunset Rotary Club of Davis will be selling snacks. <\/p>\n El Dorado County<\/p>\n Trucks & Tunes<\/p>\n People at Cameron Park Lake can enjoy live music, food trucks, and family-friendly fun Friday night. The fundraiser is going on from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. It will feature Bobby Dickson and the B Side Band. There\u2019s a suggested $5 donation to support the Cameron Park Lake Restoration Project.<\/p>\n El Dorado Western Railway<\/p>\n Ride the El Dorado Western Railroad\u2019s full-size excursion train this Saturday and solve a narrated \u201cGreat Train Robbery\u201d mystery along the way. The trip departs at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and noon at the El Dorado Depot.
