Two suspects wanted in connection with an attempted murder investigation in California were arrested in Carson City on Wednesday, according to the Carson City Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Authorities said they received information around 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, that Michael Porter-Romero, 34, and Chelsie Williams, 25, may be in Carson City.<\/p>\n
The two are accused of being involved in a physical altercation that escalated into a shooting in Oakdale, California, on Sept. 6. Authorities said they fled the scene and were considered armed and dangerous.<\/p>\n
Detectives with the Oakdale Police Department later determined the suspects may have traveled to Carson City.<\/p>\n
Carson City detectives, assisted by the Nevada Department of Investigation\u2019s Tri-County Narcotics Task Force, used law enforcement technology to locate the suspects in the 2700 block of South Carson Street. Detectives then established surveillance in the area.<\/p>\n
On Sept. 9, detectives and the Carson City Sheriff\u2019s Office Critical Response Unit served arrest warrants and took Porter-Romero and Williams into custody. Both were transported to the Carson City Detention Center.<\/p>\n
Porter-Romero is being held on $1.35 million bail as a fugitive from justice on a warrant alleging attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an inhabited dwelling or occupied vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm and prohibited person in possession of ammunition.<\/p>\n
