Police sought the public\u2019s assistance Wednesday in identifying the drivers of three vehicles that fatally struck a pedestrian in a series of hit-and-run collisions in Long Beach in mid-July.<\/p>\n
The collisions occurred around 11:40 p.m. July 13 near Ocean Boulevard and Golden Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.<\/p>\n
Responding officers found a man in the roadway. Long Beach Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
The victim was identified as 53-year-old Brian McBroom, who police said may have been experiencing homelessness.<\/p>\n
A preliminary investigation determined that McBroom was crossing Ocean Boulevard northbound outside a crosswalk when he was struck by a newer-model black SUV with black wheels that was traveling eastbound in the No. 2 lane of Ocean Boulevard, just west of Golden Avenue, police said.<\/p>\n
The SUV was last seen heading eastbound on Ocean Boulevard.<\/p>\n
Police said McBroom was subsequently struck by a white truck and then a red sedan. None of the three drivers remained at the scene.<\/p>\n
