SAN JOSE \u2014 A woman has been arrested on suspicion of hate crimes and stalking in San Jose, police said.<\/p>\n
Officers were initially called to the 6400 block of Aspen Creek on Sunday for a report of a \u201chate-motivated incident,\u201d according to the San Jose Police Department.<\/p>\n
Police said the suspect approached a father and child in her car multiple times and made discriminatory remarks to them.<\/p>\n
One of the encounters appears to have been caught on camera. In a video posted to social media, a father states he was with his 6-year-old daughter when they were harassed multiple times in their neighborhood.<\/p>\n
A woman in a Honda Fit claims to be \u201cwith the feds\u201d and accuses the father of sex-trafficking the child, according to the recording.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s a white little girl and you are a man of color,\u201d she says. \u201cI believe you are either buying or selling \u2026 this child.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman then quotes a Bible verse and leaves. \u201cMy daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of God from their grip,\u201d she says. \u201cBurn in hell, you will.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police said officers used automated license plate reader technology to identify the woman and her vehicle.<\/p>\n
During the investigation, officers learned the suspect was responsible for a series of other incidents, including one at a high school on Wednesday, according to police.<\/p>\n
The woman was arrested on suspicion of multiple offenses, including hate crimes and stalking, and was booked into Santa Clara County jail, police said. She was not identified Thursday.<\/p>\n
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
