The incident occurred just before noon as Hari was walking through the parking lot and spotted Baby behind the wheel of a blue Toyota Highlander stopped in the lot.<\/p>\n
A witness said the two women did not appear to be having any type of disagreement or argument. The victim appeared to be walking toward the SUV when Baby allegedly accelerated, ran over her, struck three parked cars and fled the scene.<\/p>\n

(San Jose PD)<\/p>\n Both Baby and Hari lived in the Mill Creek apartment complex and were described by family members as “good friends,” KRON reported.<\/p>\n Hari suffered fatal head injuries in the hit-and-run and was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n Barely two hours later, at 1:53 p.m., officers with the San Jose Police Department responded to a residence in the 700 block of Linda Vista Street, about nine miles from the Mill Creek Apartments.<\/p>\n “When officers arrived, they located an unconscious and unresponsive adult female inside the residence suffering from unknown injuries,” San Jose police officials said in a news release<\/a>. “The victim succumbed to her injuries and medical personnel on scene pronounced her deceased.”<\/p>\n A 32-year-old Bay Area woman is accused of killing two of her friends, both women, just hours apart on Aug. 28, 2026.<\/p>\n Investigators said evidence found at the scene indicated the victim, later identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office as San Jose resident Ann Matthew, 39, had suffered at least one stab wound.<\/p>\n “Preliminary information revealed the victim and suspect were known to each other and an adult female suspect, Anila Baby, was quickly identified,” investigators said.<\/p>\n \u00a0New leads emerge in unsolved 2023 killing of man in Southern California\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n Milpitas police officers later located Baby parked in her damaged SUV near a Walgreens less than a mile from the Mill Creek Apartments, investigators said<\/a>.<\/p>\n According to an arrest report obtained by KRON, Baby was sitting inside the vehicle with blood on her legs and arms and was suffering from unspecified injuries.
