BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating an incident involving vehicle tampering and fuel theft in northeast Bakersfield.<\/p>\n

BPD said that two suspects were seen tampering with a vehicle and stealing fuel on Aug. 27, around 4:15 a.m.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement said the two suspects allegedly siphoned fuel from a vehicle that belongs to the United States Marine Corps Recruitment Center, located at 2625 Oswell St.<\/p>\n

BPD said the two suspects fled the scene in an early 2000s Cadillac Escalade.<\/p>\n

The department is describing the suspects as a man and a woman, both in their 40s. They said the male has a heavy build and was wearing a black hat and shirt and tan shorts.<\/p>\n

BPD said the woman was wearing a black tube top and tan pants.<\/p>\n
