SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014<\/p>\n
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office released footage<\/a> of a man fatally shot by a deputy after he allegedly stabbed two women in the Foothill Farms neighborhood<\/a> in July. <\/p>\n The shooting happened on July 15 near Diablo Drive and Woodforest Drive, north of Elkhorn Boulevard, the sheriff’s office said. <\/p>\n (Previous coverage in video above)<\/p>\n Deputies received a call around 6:30 a.m. about a man, described as a homeless individual, causing a disturbance at a Starbucks at Elkhorn Boulevard and Diablo Drive. Employees reported to dispatch that the man was behind the store counter and was armed with what was described as a “kitchen knife.” <\/p>\n During the 911 call, employees said the man forced them into the back room to hide. The man tried to reach the employees, who were forced to barricade the door with heavy objects to prevent him from entering, the sheriff’s office said. <\/p>\n He already left the Starbucks before deputies arrived, but minutes later, a deputy saw a suspect matching the description walking across Diablo Drive to an open garage. Inside the garage, a 63-year-old mother was getting into her vehicle when the man stabbed her multiple times, the sheriff’s office said. <\/p>\n Her daughter, a 26-year-old woman, heard her mother’s screams and ran toward her to help. She saw the man on top of her mother and pushed him off, but the man stabbed her, too. The daughter was also cut and stabbed numerous times. <\/p>\n A deputy witnessed the attack and immediately drove into the driveway. As the man was stabbing the daughter, the deputy fired three rounds from his handgun toward the suspect and he was struck, the sheriff’s office said. <\/p>\n When additional deputies arrived, they began life-saving measures on the man and both women. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Both women were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. <\/p>\n The man was identified as 23-year-old Fareyeshyi Allahdin.
