Three staterooms inspired by the Queen Mary\u2019s reported paranormal activity will be available for overnight stays beginning this month as the historic ocean liner adds a series of events for the Halloween season.<\/p>\n
The three rooms, collectively called Paranormal Passage, are in staterooms B326, B328 and B334, and are based on stories and legends associated with the ship, according to Queen Mary officials.<\/p>\n
The Dressing Chamber is inspired by the purported Lady in White, Jackie\u2019s Room draws on a legend associated with the ship\u2019s former first-class swimming pool, and The Officer\u2019s Study is based on stories of uniformed figures reportedly seen in the ship\u2019s passageways.<\/p>\n
The rooms expand on the ship\u2019s Stateroom B340, which has long been associated with reports of paranormal activity.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s an incredible fascination with the Queen Mary\u2019s paranormal history and the stories that have become part of her lore,\u201d Queen Mary General Manager Dylan Matteson said. \u201cOur guests want to know more, explore more and get closer to those stories.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other seasonal events will include the new Grey Ghost Galley, a 90-minute, all-you-can-eat buffet offered on Dark Harbor nights in the ship\u2019s Show Room. The $70 buffet will include early access to the Queen Mary before Dark Harbor opens.<\/p>\n
Seatings will be offered at 6 p.m., with an additional 4 p.m. seating on Fridays and Saturdays.<\/p>\n
The Queen Mary will also begin a new event called Spookeasy on Sept. 28 for guests 21 and older. The event will include a cocktail, stories about the ship\u2019s purportedly haunted history and a short tour, followed by activities at the ship\u2019s N.o3 Speakeasy including tarot, crystal and palm readings and a meditative sound bath.<\/p>\n
Spookeasy is scheduled from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 28, and Oct. 5, 12 and 19.<\/p>\n
The Queen Mary\u2019s \u201cMurder on the High Seas\u201d will run on select dates from Sept. 13 through Oct. 19, combining a three-course dinner with an interactive musical murder mystery. A matinee is scheduled Sept. 13, followed by evening performances Oct. 5, 12 and 19.<\/p>\n
The ship will also screen Alfred Hitchcock\u2019s \u201cPsycho\u201d Sept. 28, \u201cBeetlejuice\u201d Oct. 12 and \u201cThe Shining\u201d Oct. 19 in its private theater. The films will begin at 6:45 p.m.The Queen Mary\u2019s existing Graveyard Tour, Paranormal Ship Walk and Haunted Encounters will continue during the fall.<\/p>\n
Dark Harbor, the ship\u2019s annual Halloween event, will return for select nights from Sept. 18 through Nov. 1.<\/p>\n
The Queen Mary is marking the 90th anniversary of its maiden voyage this year. The ship made its maiden voyage in May 1936 and has been moored in Long Beach since 1967.<\/p>\n
