The event honors the 343 FDNY members who died on 9\/11.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The run starts at 8:47 a.m. from the Long Beach Boardwalk, following an opening ceremony and a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. Runners are joined by active and retired FDNY members, volunteers, and an FDNY bike support team.<\/p>\n<p data-rich-text-paragraph=\"true\">The <a data-rich-text-hyperlink=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.343foundation.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">34.3 Foundation<\/a> was started in 2021 by FDNY firefighter Etan Blatt.
