Buy tickets at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacramentochangemakers.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">sacramentochangemakers.com<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>When Timothy Swaney moved to Sacramento from San Diego in 2019 after nine years in the U.S. Navy, he wasn\u2019t sure where he fit in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI felt lost and kind of alone,\u201d Swaney, now 36, said. \u201cI didn\u2019t know where my people were.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Swaney found connections with a group of San Francisco military veterans, but when the opportunity to help form a local group to aid fellow veterans came in 2025, he stepped up.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe needed something like that here,\u201d Swaney said. \u201cWe didn\u2019t want people to feel that way anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Swaney co-founded Veteran Entrepreneur Tribe of Sacramento, or VETS. The community organization helps military veterans and their allies found their own businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The organization provides resources, education and other assistance from the idea phase to scaling up phase, Swaney said.
