BERKELEY \u2014 Saturday marked the 16th anniversary of the unsolved homicide of Adolfo Ignacio Celed\u00f3n Bravo<\/a> and police are once again offering $50,000<\/a> to anyone who can help solve the case.<\/p>\n

On Sept. 12, 2010, Celed\u00f3n \u2014 nicknamed \u201cFito\u201d \u2014 was walking home from a party with his fianc\u00e9, Amber Nelson, at around 3:41 a.m. when the two were allegedly accosted at Adeline and Emerson streets by two men who assaulted and robbed them, according to the Berkeley Police Department. It was Celed\u00f3n\u2019s 35th birthday.<\/p>\n

One of the robbers shot Celed\u00f3n, who was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. Nelson was punched in the face during the assault, the department said.<\/p>\n

Officials said the two attackers fled in a dark, older model SUV.<\/p>\n

\u201cDetectives remain hopeful that a member of the community will come forward with information,\u201d the department said in a statement Saturday. \u201cEven the smallest detail could prove critical to solving this case.\u201d<\/p>\n

The department is offering a $50,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Celed\u00f3n\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Six years ago, on the 10th anniversary of Celed\u00f3n\u2019s murder<\/a>, the Berkeley Police Department first increased the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case to $50,000.<\/p>\n

Celed\u00f3n was a Chilean national and the case drew the attention of the Chilean government, which contributed funds to a $20,000 reward for information leading to arrests in the case in 2014.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n
