(KGET) &#8212; A man died of his injuries following an altercation with another person in a Valley Plaza Mall parking lot Friday night in Bakersfield.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Bakersfield police were called to a Target store at 2901 Ming Ave. on Friday at around 8:20 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. A man with severe wounds was found inside the store, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a data-ylk=\"slk:Watch 17 News, After Sunrise and more local news free on your smart TV. The Kern County Coroner&#8217;s Office will identify the victim at a later time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In a statement, investigators said they located a knife that may have been used in the incident and detained a possible suspect.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police said the incident started between the victim and the suspect in the parking lot and went into the Target store where the victim was wounded.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Investigators are asking anyone with information, witnesses or video footage to contact the department at 661-327-7111.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
