A proposal to build a new In-N-Out Burger<\/a> at a popular Northern California mall has fans flipping out.<\/p>\n

At a city council staff meeting in Salinas on September 8, information was presented about the construction of a dining location and drive-thru for the popular fast-food chain<\/a> at the Northridge Mall, KSBW<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

The plans detailed a 3,890 square-foot restaurant with a drive-thru located on 1.18 acres.<\/p>\n

A proposal to build a new In-N-Out Burger at a popular shopping center has fans in a tizzy. Christopher Sadowski<\/p>\n

However, the documents said the restaurant application was \u201cincomplete\u201d and the project hasn\u2019t yet been approved. <\/p>\n

The restaurant would sit between an existing Panera Bread and Chick-fil-A at the mall<\/a>. It would also join a recently opened Raising Cane eatery.<\/p>\n

The idea of an imminent In-N-Out<\/a> had fans salivating.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis would be ideal,\u201d one person wrote on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cYES, it\u2019s about time!\u201d another added.<\/p>\n

\u201cFinally!\u201d a third chimed in.<\/p>\n

There is currently only one In-N-Out Burger in the city of Salinas, which with a population of roughly 164,000. It is located off Highway 101, on Kern Street and has both a dining room and drive-through.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The next closest location is about 13 miles away in Seaside, and beyond that, an In-N-Out in Gilroy about 25 miles away.<\/p>\n

The burger chain\u2019s hasn\u2019t announced the new location on its website<\/a>. The California Post contacted In-N-Out for comment.<\/p>\n
