(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.yourcentralvalley.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">KSEE\/KGPE<\/a>) \u2013 A helicopter rescue technician from the Fresno County Sheriff\u2019s Office assisted in a climber\u2019s rescue from a 700-foot cliff at Courtright Reservoir, according to CHP Coastal Division Air Operations.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday around 12:45 p.m., a rock climber had fallen off the steep rock face known as \u201cPower Dome,\u201d according to CHP. The climber was injured and needed medical assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Officials say a helicopter from CHP Coastal Air Operations\u2019 base in Paso Robles responded to the call with a two-man crew. The FCSO rescue technician was one of the crew members.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1165\" height=\"659\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Screenshot-2026-09-12-200224.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3134416\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The crew did a hoist extraction as opposed to a 500-foot rope rappel rescue, according to the Shaver Lake Fire Department.<\/p>\n<p>The climber was taken to an ambulance following the rescue, according to officials.<\/p>\n<p>This operation involved multiple departments, including Fresno County Search and Rescue Mountaineering Team, CHP Coastal and Central Division Air Operations, Fresno County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Fresno Cal Fire and U.S. Forest Service \u2013 Sierra National Forest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"FRESNO, Calif.
