{"id":46269,"date":"2025-11-10T08:47:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-10T08:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/46269\/"},"modified":"2025-11-10T08:47:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-10T08:47:06","slug":"infrastructure-link-union-station-los-angeles-business-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/46269\/","title":{"rendered":"Infrastructure: Link Union Station &#8211; Los Angeles Business Journal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">COST: $1.6 billion<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">CONSTRUCTION START: Late 2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">CONSTRUCTION FINISH: Not firmly established, but some revenue operations could begin as early as 2031<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">PRE-CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTOR: Flatiron Dragados, a subsidiary of Madrid-based Grupo ACS\/Hochtief<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">With downtown L.A.\u2019s Union Station turning into the major hub for multiple rail systems in Southern California \u2013 including Metro Rail, Metrolink and Amtrak and possibly high-speed rail \u2013 the $1.6 billion Link Union Station project aims to expand and modernize the tracks leading into and out of the station. Currently, most of the tracks have dead ends \u2013 or \u201cstubs\u201d \u2013 at the station, forcing departing trains to double-back on their entrance routes to continue on their journey. <\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\">The Link Union Station project, which is being overseen by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, or Metro, will create 10 \u201crun-through\u201d tracks that will merge onto a new bridge crossing over the 101 Freeway.
