ROCHESTER, Mich. \u2013 The women’s golf team will head south Monday, Sept. 14, to compete in the Rocket Classic in Sylvania, Ohio, marking their second invitational of the fall season.<\/p>\n
Hosted at Highland Meadows Golf Course, the invitational will follow a 54-hole format. The first round will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (EST) on Monday, with 36 holes scheduled for the opening day. The final 18 will be played Tuesday, Sept. 15, also beginning at 9 a.m.<\/p>\n
The Rocket Classic field includes seven teams: Toledo, Akron, Central Michigan, Marshall, Oakland, Ohio, and Tennessee Chattanooga. Additionally, Ohio State will field two individual competitors alongside the teams.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In last week’s A-Ga-Ming Invitational, freshman Hunter Edwards<\/a> led the Golden Grizzlies, finishing 10th overall with a score of three-over 219. Senior Lily Bargamian<\/a> and freshman Avery Manning<\/a> joined Edwards in the top 20, tying for 19th with a 224 (+8). The team placed eighth overall, finishing just four strokes behind Bradley and Indiana State, who tied for third.<\/p>\n Oakland will return the same lineup from last week’s A-Ga-Ming Invitational, including Edwards, Manning, Bargamian, and sophomores Logan Bentley<\/a> and Channing Hagen<\/a>. Freshman Adrianna Mineo<\/a> will once again compete as an individual.<\/p>\n Paired with Marshall and Tennessee Chattanooga, the Golden Grizzlies will tee off on holes 10-13 to begin the invitational.
