<\/p>\n STOCKTON, Calif. \u2013\u00a0The Pacific women’s soccer program put together a spirited effort\u00a0on Senior Day with senior Kaya Rosa<\/a> notching the game-winning goal in the second half to secure a 1-0 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Sunday afternoon from Knoles Field.<\/p>\n With a celebratory mood all day across the pitch thanks to Senior Day festivities, the Tigers (1-7) muscled\u00a0out their first victory of the 2026 campaign with an aggressive, offensive-minded approach in defeating the Roadrunners (1-6).<\/p>\n Rosa was able to capitalize on a loose rebound off a shot by sophomore Kayla Pham<\/a> in the 55th minute to give Pacific a 1-0 lead to start a momentous second half. For Rosa, it marked her second goal in as many matches after scoring the lone goal in the effort with Cal Poly and her team-leading third goal of the season.<\/p>\n Rosa, who was honored in a post-game ceremony alongside seniors Whitney Garn<\/a>, Drew Novaes<\/a>, Shay Clark<\/a> and Zoe Shepherd<\/a>, collected a game-high four shot attempts and three on target.<\/p>\n Pacific managed to out-shoot its opponent on the afternoon by a 19-9 margin, which is most shot attempts the Tigers have recorded in a match this year.<\/p>\n Diving deeper into the numbers, 12 different Tigers attempted at least one shot through the 90-minute affair and seven registered each of their attempts on target. Of note, Rosa, freshman Brooklyn Cornish<\/a>, freshman Julie Valdez<\/a> and sophomore Janelli Villagran<\/a> had two or more shot attempts on the CSUB keeper.<\/p>\n On the other side of the field, freshman Ava Wells<\/a> earned her first career clean sheet, stopping three Roadrunner shots. Wells becomes the first freshman goalkeeper to earn a clean sheet since Lis Van Herwijnen<\/a> from last year.<\/p>\n Pacific controlled the pace the majority of the match, owning the shot disparity and the corner kick edge, 8-6.<\/p>\n The Tigers will continue to carry the momentum into next match, which will take place in Sin City against UNLV on Thursday at 7 p.m. from Peter Johann Memorial Field.<\/p>\n Stay Social
