A man was killed in Long Beach after he was hit by three vehicles on Sunday night, Sept. 14, of which only one driver stopped and spoke with investigators, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The crash occurred along Pacific Avenue just north of Pacific Coast Highway just before 7:25 p.m., police said.<\/p>\n
The man was walking eastbound across Pacific Avenue outside of a crosswalk and was struck by a white SUV after he stepped off the center median into the northbound lanes, police said. The man was then struck by a dark-colored sedan.<\/p>\n
The drivers of both of those vehicles fled after the collisions, police said.<\/p>\n
The man was then struck by the driver of a 2021 Jaguar, but that driver stayed and cooperated with the investigation, police said.<\/p>\n
Officers attempted to help the man until paramedics arrived and took him to a hospital, where he died, police said.<\/p>\n
Speed, distracted driving and impaired driving do not appear to be factors in the collision, police said, but the investigation was ongoing.<\/p>\n
