{"id":463836,"date":"2026-09-14T23:14:10","date_gmt":"2026-09-14T23:14:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/463836\/"},"modified":"2026-09-14T23:14:10","modified_gmt":"2026-09-14T23:14:10","slug":"oakland-to-use-drones-in-anti-dumping-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/463836\/","title":{"rendered":"Oakland to use drones in anti-dumping campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The city of Oakland will deploy artificial intelligence-assisted drones to proactively detect abandoned trash on streets as part of its plan to crack down on illegal dumping.<\/p>\n<p>City officials said the drones will scan the streets, identify garbage piles, and use AI to classify debris so that authorities can initiate cleanup efforts before receiving complaints from residents.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, Mayor Barbara Lee said city residents and businesses \u201cdeserve clean streets, and today we are one step closer to a safer, cleaner, and greener Oakland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The drones, called <a href=\"https:\/\/aerbits.ai\/cities\/oakland.html\" class=\"Link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Aerbits<\/a>, are made by a San Francisco-based company of the same name.
