Investigators on Tuesday were looking for a driver responsible for a late-night hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist in Sacramento\u2019s Parkway neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The fatal hit-and-run was reported shortly after 3 a.m. Monday at Luther Drive and Florin Road. Patrol officers arrived and found a man who had been riding a bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle, the Sacramento Police Department<\/a> said in a news release.<\/p>\n

Police said the bicyclist was found suffering from life-threatening injuries. Medics arrived and attempted life-saving measures, but they pronounced the man dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

The vehicle involved in the collision left the area before officers arrived.<\/p>\n

Detectives from the department\u2019s Major Collision Investigation unit, along with crime scene investigators, took over the investigation. They collected evidence and canvassed the area for witnesses. Police said the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run remained under investigation.<\/p>\n

The Sacramento County Coroner\u2019s Office will release the man\u2019s name and age after his family has been notified.<\/p>\n

Investigators asked anyone with information about the hit-and-run to call the Police Department at 916-808-5471.<\/p>\n
