(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A woman died after a solo-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 early Saturday morning near Castaic.<\/p>\n<p>The California Highway Patrol said on September 12, 2026, at around 6:23 a.m., officers were called to a solo-vehicle crash and body within the lanes of southbound Interstate 5, near Lake Hughes Road.<\/p>\n<p>CHP units found an overturned vehicle within the right shoulder and a female within the number one lane. The female was pronounced dead by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel.<\/p>\n<p>According to CHP, initial reports found that the driver was traveling southbound on I-5, near Lake Hughes Road. CHP said for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, climbed the dirt embankment, and rolled over.<\/p>\n<p>The female driver was ejected as a result of the crash.<\/p>\n<p>CHP said alcohol and\/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash.<\/p>\n<p>The CHP Newhall Area is investigating the crash.
