The space for the Fremont Union High School District\u2019s robotics programs has been transformed from temporary portables to a permanent home.<\/p>\n
The district on Sept. 10 celebrated the grand opening of its new robotics center. Located at Cupertino High School, the new facility can serve up to 900 students from all five district high schools.<\/p>\n
The 14,500-square-foot facility is funded by Measure G, a $275 million bond measure passed by district voters in 2022.<\/p>\n
The center includes a dedicated robotics field space with spectator seating, a fully equipped workshop, classrooms and team collaboration zones. The grounds feature an entry plaza, outdoor learning and project spaces, drop-off areas, landscaping, and rooftop solar panels.<\/p>\n
Elements that support high-tech, hands-on learning include elevated ceiling heights to accommodate aerial drone testing, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protective flooring to guard sensitive electronic components, and dedicated Wi-Fi systems engineered to prevent signal interference during robot operation. The facility also features acoustic roof decking and wall paneling, advanced security features and integrated daylighting controls.<\/p>\n
The robotics center was designed by Quattrocchi Kwok Architects and built by Landmark Constructors, with Blach Construction serving as construction manager.<\/p>\n
