(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 One person died early Wednesday morning after a solo-vehicle crash on Sycamore Road in an area west of Arvin.<\/p>\n<p>The California Highway Patrol said on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at around 12:42 a.m., officers were called to Sycamore Road and South Edison Road for a report of a solo-vehicle crash.<\/p>\n<p>CHP said a preliminary investigation found that a male of unknown age was driving a 2007 Scion tC westbound on Sycamore Road, just west of South Edison Road, at an unknown high rate of speed.<\/p>\n<p>According to CHP, for reasons still under investigation, the driver allowed the vehicle to travel off the roadway, where it overturned into a dirt field.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the crash, the driver died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>CHP said at this time, it is unknown whether alcohol and\/or drugs were factors in this crash.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call CHP Bakersfield at (661) 396-6600.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
