(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 A 59-year-old man was arrested in connection with a<a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/kcso-investigating-shooting-in-east-bakersfield-2-injured\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> shooting that left two people dead in east Bakersfield back in May 2026.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/kcso-investigating-shooting-in-east-bakersfield-2-injured\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Homicide investigation underway after two men found dead on east Bakersfield property<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Kern County Sheriff\u2019s Office said on May 25, 2026, at around 10:15 p.m., deputies responded to the 5700 block of Eucalyptus Drive for two victims of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found two men dead on the property.<\/p>\n<p>One of the two men was identified as <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/coroner-identifies-one-of-two-men-killed-in-east-bakersfield-eucalyptus-drive-kern-county-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">61-year-old Marcelino Rodriguez <\/a>of Bakersfield.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"KBAK\/KBFX\" class=\"ImageEmbed_image__qZBo_\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"365\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/254d0101-4f77-4017-8ebd-708490e08a71-Sequence_LINARES_POSSIVLESHOOTINGEUCALYPTUSDRPARKDR_0001_frame_.jpeg\" width=\"648\"\/><\/p>\n<p>KBAK\/KBFX<\/p>\n<p>The Kern County Sheriff\u2019s Office said 59-year-old Kenneth Calloway Macklin was arrested on Tuesday, September 16, in connection with the homicides.<\/p>\n<p>KCSO said during the investigation, detectives determined Macklin was a suspect and obtained a search warrant.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/kcso-seeks-publics-help-to-identify-vehicle-tied-to-may-double-homicide-in-bakersfield-kern-county-sheriffs-office-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">KCSO seeks public\u2019s help to identify vehicle tied to May double homicide in Bakersfield<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/kcso-seeks-publics-help-to-identify-vehicle-tied-to-may-double-homicide-in-bakersfield-kern-county-sheriffs-office-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Earlier this month<\/a>, KCSO requested information on a vehicle that left the scene of the shooting.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"{p}The Kern County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding any information on those who were inside a dark gray or black four-door sedan that was involved in a double homicide back in May.
