At least six commercial buildings are currently listed for sale in and around Fresno’s Fulton Street.<\/p>\n
They are concentrated at intersection of Fulton and Mariposa streets in the heart of the corridor \u2014 a part of downtown where the city and some property owners have spent millions in recent years but that continues to struggle with prolonged vacancies.<\/p>\n
According to the commercial real estate website Loopnet<\/a>, three adjacent buildings at that corner \u2014 including the one that houses the Chicken Shack restaurant \u2014 are selling together with an asking price of $2.15 million.<\/p>\n Just south on Fulton Street, the RH Christian Center building \u2014 next to the building considered the oldest in Fresno<\/a> \u2014 is listed for sale<\/a> at $2.28 million.<\/p>\n The Fulton area listings come amid a year that’s seen various major property sale attempts in downtown Fresno, where the city is using state money to install new infrastructure in hopes of incentivizing development and a population boom.<\/p>\n So far this year, the 9-story former Radisson hotel on Van Ness Avenue has been re-listed for sale at $19.5 million<\/a> after it was posted on Loopnet last fall and then removed. The six-story former Bank of the West building just one block north on Van Ness has been listed for sale at $2.6 million since May<\/a>.<\/p>\n The historic T.W. Patterson building at Fulton and Tulare streets was listed on Loopnet in March at $8.1 million<\/a> and then taken off the site. Granville Homes in April<\/a> also listed seven downtown residential properties on the site, though most have since been removed.<\/p>\n Buildings listed for sale in Fresno’s Fulton corridor<\/p>\n The three buildings selling together for $2.15 million at Fulton and Mariposa streets belong to Robert Gurfield. The Fresno Bee could not reach Gurfield on Tuesday, and his real estate agent said he couldn’t comment about the Aug. 31 listing.<\/p>\n In addition to the building on the corner that houses the Chicken Shack, the listing includes the adjacent Kress and B-Maxx buildings. The three buildings total 31,280 square feet and are mostly occupied, according to a flyer advertising the spaces<\/a>.<\/p>\n The buildings are across the street from the redeveloped Pacific Southwest building and from the renovated Mariposa Plaza.<\/p>\n Gurfield told The Bee in 2019<\/a> that he believed in the corner’s potential for revitalization despite its struggle with homelessness.<\/p>\n South of the corner, the RH Christian Center<\/a>, which is a Christian church, is selling its 14,937-square-foot building at 1025 Fulton St for $2.28 million.<\/p>\n The church did not respond to a request for comment about the listing, which was posted in May and has had a price reduction<\/a>.<\/p>\n
