The Broncos defense forced three punts and two turnovers on downs over the final two periods. … Broncos running back Dylan Riley was the Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week and Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for a career-high 206 yards against Memphis. Riley had a 71-yard carry that was the Broncos’ longest play from scrimmage this season … Boise State has the nation’s best winning percentage (76.2%, 294-92) since moving to FBS 30 years ago. The next best marks over the three decades are by Ohio State (75.5%), Alabama (74%), Michigan (73.2%) and Notre Dame (72.7%).

Colorado State (2-0)

Last week: Won 58-24 vs. Southern Utah.

This week: Saturday vs. No. 11 BYU (2-0), 4:30 p.m. PT (CBS).

Odds: BYU by 17 1/2.

Three things: Colorado State running back Mel Brown had 171 yards rushing against Southern Utah, most of it coming on 73- and 80-yard runs. The 73-yarder went for a touchdown. The 80-yarder was the longest in program history without going for a TD. … The Rams are tied with Memphis for the most explosive plays over 70 yards (three) and over 50 yards (five) this season. … Colorado State’s eight turnovers gained (five interceptions, three fumble recoveries) are tied with New Mexico for first in the nation.

Fresno State (1-1)

Last week: Won 49-3 vs. Sacramento State.

This week: Saturday at San Jose State (2-1), 8 p.m. PT (Fox Sports 1).

Odds: Fresno State by 6 1/2.

Three things: Fresno State’s win was keyed by a 32-point second quarter, the first time since 2012 the Bulldogs produced that many points in the second quarter against an FBS opponent. They had 35 in a 69-14 win against Colorado. … For only the third time in 40 years, the Bulldogs had a 300-yard passer (Jayden Mandal), a 100-yard rusher (Bryson Donelson) and two 100-yard receivers (Ezekiel Avit and Josiah Freeman) in the same game. … Fresno State defensive back Simeon Harris’ interception against Sacramento State was the seventh of his career, ranking third among active FBS players.

Oregon State (0-2)

Last week: Lost 35-24 vs. No. 13 Texas Tech

This week: Saturday vs. Montana (3-0), 8 p.m. PT (USA Network).

Odds: Oregon State by 17 1/2.

Three things: Oregon State leads the series against Montana 12-2-2, although the Grizzlies have won the past two meetings (1990, 1996). … Oregon State quarterback Braden Atkinson leads the nation with 394.5 passing yards a game, and wide receiver Jesse Legree leads the nation in receiving yards with 188 yards a game. .… The Oregon State roster includes players from 26 states, led by California (31), Oregon (16) and Washington (10).

San Diego State (1-1)

Last week: Lost 28-10 at UCLA.

This week: Saturday vs. James Madison (2-0), 7 p.m. PT (The CW).

Odds: SDSU by 2 1/2.

Three things: The SDSU-UCLA game was 0-0 at halftime, marking the first time the Bruins were held scoreless in the first half since 1989 against Tennessee. … The Aztecs’ seven-game active home winning streak is tied for seventh in the nation. Indiana leads the way with a 17-game home winning streak. … SDSU running back Lucky Sutton has not fumbled the ball in 333 career touches (328 carries, five receptions).

Texas State (0-2)

Last week: Lost 31-26 vs. UTSA.

This week: Saturday vs. North Texas (1-1), 9 a.m. PT (USA Network).

Odds: Texas State by 3.

Three things: Texas State and North Texas have played 40 times over the years. North Texas leads the series 29-8-2, although Texas State won the last meeting in the 2024 First Responders Bowl. … It seems odd for Texas State to be favored by a field goal with North Texas coming off a 44-6 win over UNLV. … Texas State rushed for 289 yards against UTSA, including a career-high 149 yards from Torrance Burgess Jr. The run game is quite a complement to quarterback Brad Jackson, the Pac-12’s top-rated QB coming into the season.

Utah State (0-2)

Last week: Lost 16-14 at No. 19 Washington.

This week: Saturday at No. 17 Utah (2-0), 12:30 p.m. PT (Fox).

Odds: Utah by 28 1/2.

Three things: This is the 114th meeting between Utah State and Utah, which leads the series 80-29-4. The Aggies have lost eight straight road games against Utah since a 21-14 win in 1997. … Utah State has turned the ball over seven times in two games, but the Aggies’ defense has allowed only 13 points off those giveaways. … Utah’s roster includes wide receiver Braden Pegan, who had 60 receptions for 926 yards and five touchdowns last season — for Utah State.

Washington State (0-2)

Last week: Lost 34-7 at Kansas State

This week: Saturday vs. Duquesne (0-2), 12:30 p.m. PT (USA Network).

Odds: Washington State by 37 1/2.

Three things: Washington State is favored this week by more points than any other Pac-12 team, but the 37 1/2-point spread does not rank in the top 10 this week. It’s 11th. Tops is Oregon by 57 1/2 points over Portland State. … The spread is more than twice as many points as the Cougars have scored this season. Their 17 points have come on a rushing touchdown, an interception returned for a touchdown and a field goal … This is the 15th game against an FBS opponent in Duquesne history. It is 1-13, the lone win a 28-26 victory over Ohio in 2021.

A quick trip around the Pac-12: Boise State (1-1) Last week: Won 38-20 vs. Memphis.
