Mama Roscoe\u2019s Pizzeria<\/p>\n<p>444 N. Lakeview Ave., Anaheim; 657-221-0076; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mamaroscoespizzeria.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">mamaroscoespizzeria<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Just the way Mama would have done it if mom opened a pizza place: that was the guiding philosophy for Mama Roscoe\u2019s Pizzeria when it opened its doors in Anaheim in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>And in only 2\u00bd years the word is getting out, particularly among those who value high-quality pizza in an old-school, 1970s style.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we\u2019ve done is take Mama\u2019s recipes, with our own little twist,\u201d says owner Dwayne Roscoe, who came up with the concept in 2019 and winnowed it during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>As great as Mama\u2019s cooking was, it was never written down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re unique. We do things in old-fashioned ways. We make our own meatballs and ranch dressing, and the things that modern pizza places don\u2019t do,\u201d Roscoe says.<\/p>\n<p>The ranch dressing, for example, took two years to get just right.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI nailed it literally a week before we opened,\u201d he said, noting it has the perfect \u201cdill kick.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Specialties, combining old and new include: Dad\u2019s Home Run Special, a meat lover\u2019s dream; Mama\u2019s creation, which celebrates Judy Roscoe\u2019s Mexican heritage with taco beef, bell peppers, red onion and jalape\u00f1o; and J&amp;D\u2019s B-B-Q Chicken, created by brothers Jon and Dwayne.<\/p>\n<p>There are also starters, sandwiches, salads and desserts.<\/p>\n<p>For the time being, Dwayne Roscoe says his goal is to build the brand name and reputation from scratch and, if all works, expand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur motto is zero to one and more,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Also see: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocregister.com\/2026\/09\/16\/best-of-orange-county-2026-see-all-the-winners\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Best of Orange County 2026: See all the winners<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Riip Beer &amp; Pizza<\/p>\n<p>Huntington Beach; 714-660-7447, <a href=\"https:\/\/riip.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">riip.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The culinary roots of Ryan \u201cRiip\u201d Rasmussen are in brewing. His craft Riip Beer Company has been consistently recognized, including 2024 Brewery of the Year in the 2,000-5,000 barrel category at the Great American Beer Festival.<\/p>\n<p>However, his popularity in complementing his brews with high-class pizza and the old-school pizzeria vibe of his youth, are a runaway success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur concept was a retro parlor with arcades, beer and wings with an elevated concept,\u201d Rasmussen said.<\/p>\n<p>Part of that comes from Riip\u2019s artisanal, scratch-made doughs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou want to finish our crusts,\u201d Rasmussen said.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, he says, nothing comes out of a jar or can.<\/p>\n<p>WIth 21 thin-slice and 20 rectangular Detroit-style focaccia-crust pizzas, most available by slice or whole pie, there\u2019s no shortage of flavors. Particularly popular are the \u201cRiipin Bowls,\u201d named for the owner and shape of the cooked pepperoni slices and several takes on creamy burrata cheese and hot honey pizzas.<\/p>\n<p>Riip Beer &amp; Pizza has two Huntington Beach locations \u2014 one on Pacific Coast Highway next to Riip\u2019s brewery in Sunset Beach and another at Magnolia Street and Garfield Avenue in the south end of town.<\/p>\n<p>3. Fuoco Pizzeria Napoletano<\/p>\n<p>101 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton; 714-626-0727; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fuocopizza.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fuocopizza.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It takes a certain skill set to make the perfect, authentic Naples-style, or Napoletano, pizza. And a particular palette to fully appreciate it. If you know, you know, and those in the know rave about family-owned and operated Fuoco Pizzeria Napoletano.<\/p>\n<p>Proudly proclaiming \u201cthree generations of pizzaiolo,\u201d or pizza chefs, and an Italian imported hand-crafted oven made from volcanic sand from Mt.
