This week\u2019s performance in the Coronado Public Library\u2019s Autumn Concert Series will feature harpist Amy Kanner on Friday, September 18 at 1 p.m. Her performance will showcase the enchanting sound of the harp alongside music inspired by her training in harp therapy. Attendees will experience the instrument\u2019s soothing qualities alongside its remarkable musical range in this unique performance.<\/p>\n
Trained in both violin and piano as well as the harp, Kanner has been studying music since age 7. A graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio, Kanner\u2019s encounter with the Celtic harp changed the course of her musical life. Since then, she has shared the instrument with audiences throughout San Diego at schools, arts festivals, celebrations, community gatherings, and other special events. Kanner is a graduate of the International Harp Therapy Program, a year-long course of study founded by master harpist Christina Tourin that explores the use of the harp\u2019s distinctive resonance to support relaxation and well-being.<\/p>\n
All concerts in the series are free thanks to the support of the Friends of the Coronado Public Library and the City of Coronado. The Winn Room doors will open to the public 15 minutes prior to each performance.<\/p>\n
